by Dwayne Johnson has teased a match against Roman Reigns multiple times in recent months. The Rock is one of the top Hollywood actors now, if he wrestles Roman Reigns then it would attract more eyeballs to WWE.
Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Newsletter is reporting that The Rock is yet to sign a contract with WWE to wrestle. Meltzer also notes that he might still sign a contract with WWE, and wrestle Roman Reigns.
“According to WWE sources, Johnson has not officially signed a deal to wrestle for the company but the key word said about that is “Yet. It is known that he is willing and said to be wanting to do a match with Roman Reigns and is strong on doing it at WrestleMania, but that is not locked in as of this week.”
“It was suggested to us the idea of seeing how much Saudi Arabia would pay extra to get a Dwayne Johnson match given the crazy numbers they’ve paid for boxing matches, although it was noted that Johnson himself sees WrestleMania a this point as what he is most interested in. One person in the company noted that Johnson was “headstrong” about wrestling Reigns at WrestleMania.”
Cody Rhodes fought Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 39, he failed to finish the story. It was assumed that Cody would get an opportunity to wrestle Roman Reigns again at this years’ WrestleMania. It would be interesting to see who ends up facing Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 40.
