Even though he lost match but getting a title shot against Roman is not an easy task.
After Randy Orton’s injury Matt Riddle tried his hands as a singles wrestler but there were lots of negative news about him regularly. Fans also started to lose interest on him.
Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Newsletter is reporting that WWE did push Matt Riddle because of constant negative stuff.
“Several in the company noted that he probably would have been among the top stars in the company, but because of the constant negative stuff that had come out, they were not going to push him past mid-level at this point.”
