Vince McMahon had high hopes on Brock Lesnar since his early days in WWE. In 2002 in one of the RAW episode Steve Austin was scheduled to face Brock Lesnar and lose to him. Steve Austin walked out of RAW, he was seemingly upset because there was no build up for the match and also Brock Lesnar was a rookie in 2002, it didn’t make sense for him.
Steve Austin gave an interview to Wesh.com, where he talked about not working with Brock Lesnar.
“Way back in the day, I was scheduled to wrestle him in Atlanta at a television taping and the match wasn’t great as far as creative goes so the match never happened, so that’s the one that got away, and I’ve got so much respect for Brock.
