CM Punk couple of months ago was working with other promotion, due to some issues he got fired. WWE capitalised that opportunity and signed him to WWE. Triple H himself said CM Punk signing with WWE happened days before Survivor Series. So only very few people had actual known about Punk’s return.
Health Slater recently was on Rewind Recap Relive show, where he talked about CM Punk’s return to WWE. Health says Punk’s return overshadowed Randy Orton’s return at Survivor Series.
“Of course it’s a cool moment. It’s like come on now, like it’s been a decade pretty much. It’s a cool moment. Do I wish they would have done it at WarGames? No, because I feel like Randy should have had a great moment too, Randy, you know, because Randy’s amazing.
You know, (Randy) is one of those icons, the Hall of Famers, is a legend to me. Randy’s like, if you sculpted out what a professional wrestler should be, it would be him. You know what I mean? Like, that’s how I feel. I kind of feel like it overshadowed Randy’s moment, but it was a cool moment.”
