Sting: Ric Flair is the guy who put me on the map.

Sting is one of the greatest pro wrestler in the world. Sting has been wrestling for over 30 years. He has wrestled all over the world, and has a massive fan following.

Sting and Ric Flair have known each other for a long time. Ric Flair played a huge role in elevating Sting during his early wrestling days. Sting’s first match against Ric Flair was in 1988 at Clash of the Champions for World Championship.

Sting is currently signed with AEW. Sting previously told that he is planning to retire at the end of 2023, but after Ric Flair’s debut in AEW, he considering to wrestle longer. Ric Flair last match was in May 2022. Ric Flair teamed up with Andrade to face Jeff Jarrett and Jay Lethal

Sting recently was interviewed by Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated, where he talked about Ric Flair’s AEW debut and also reflected on how Ric Flair helped him during his early wrestling days.

“When Ric came out and I heard his music play, it hit me. I had this flashback, and it made me emotional. Ric is the guy who put me on the map. We’ve traveled around the world together, and Ric helped make me. Now he’s going to finish with me.

“After all the travel, all the matches, all the press slams, all the chops, and all the woos–woooo!–I experienced the same feeling on Dynamite this past week with Ric that I did on that final Nitro. Except this time, it was so much more positive.”

“I wanted to finish earlier, maybe in December. But now that Ric is here with me, I want to go longer, all the way to Revolution.”
