5 failed Money In The Bank cash-ins in WWE

Winning Money In The Bank was considered as an easiest way to get your hands on the WWE title but some superstar missed the easiest of easy opportunity to cash-in the MITB and failed miserably.

Lets see 5 failed MITB cash-ins in WWE

John Cena | WWE Raw 2012

John Cena is not known for attacking superstars from behind. So to cash-in his MITB, he directly challenged one on one vs CM Punk for WWE Championship. Big Show interfered in the match and attacked John Cena resulting in Disqualification. Even though John Cena won the match, CM was still the champion because as per rules titles will not change hands if it was a DQ win.

Damien Sandow | WWE RAW 2013

Damien Sandow brutally attacked John Cena’s injured elbow, he hits him with MITB brief case multiple times. He pushes him to the steel steps and hits John Cena injured elbow with steel chair. John Cena was hurt very badly. Than finally Damien cashes his MITB and starts the match, Damien locks John Cena on his injured arm, John Cena was screaming in pain, John escapes and attacks him. John Cena was fighting in one arm, he somehow delivers an AA and retains in title.

Baron Corbin | WWE Smackdown 2017

Baron Corbin is one of the most under appreciated wrestler in WWE. Baron pretty much does justice to his storyline, no matter whatever storyline he is given. Jinder Mahal was barely able to stand after the match, so Baron thought that was the best time to cash-in the MITB, so he did, but the little distraction from John Cena was enough for Jinder to roll Baron Corbin for a quick pin and retained his title.

Braun Strowman | WWE HIAC 2018

Braun Strowman wanted to destroy Roman Reigns and win the Universal Championship. So he challenged Roman Reigns for steel cage match in HIAC. Braun Strowman was mercilessly beating Roman Reigns, Roman was also fighting back. Drew and Dolph tried to interfere in the match, but the other Shield members attacked Dolph and Drew. Brock Lesnar made a surprise return in HIAC and attacked both Roman Reigns and Braun Strowman, which resulted in a DQ. So Roman Reigns retains the title.

The Miz | WWE TLC 2020

Drew McIntyre defended his title against AJ in a ladders match, they both were really hurt and Miz comes to the ring and attacks Drew, who was few inches away from the title. Morrison cashes-in MITB on behalf of Miz, and match changed into a triple threat match. Miz was climbing the ladder, before he puts his hand on the title, Omos pulls him from behind and put him through the table, And finally Drew McIntyre retains the title. On the following week Raw Adam Pierce stated that Miz did not cash-in his MITB but Morrison. So it becomes invalid and returns MITB back to The Miz.
