Sami Zayn recently gave an interview to WWE Deutschland, talked about Roman Reigns, The Usos, Johnny Knoxville and more
When he was asked about why he wanted to join The Bloodline
Well, so the whole thing actually evolved quite a bit from the initial idea. I really love where we are at now and I think lot of the fans are enjoying it. I’m happy it all went the way it did. But the initial idea wasn’t necessary to join the Bloodline because I didn’t think it was possible. It’s The Bloodline we have to be blood right, but the idea was that I was calling myself the locker room leader especially at that time, and of course Roman Reigns is the Head of the Table. So the idea would have been to have sort of on-screen relationship where I’m checking in with him and he’s checking in with me and I can help him out when the time was right and that kind of thing. But it kind of morphed and evolved into this and it’s been collaborative process for sure with everybody involved and everybody just really in their roles really full-steam ahead, I think that’s what making it work so well. Everyone is so committed to it and the fans are, it’s so funny to see them predicting what’s gonna happen next every week, it’s never quiet what they think that’s gonna happen, that’s what I love when it’s kind of semi predictable but it’s not at all predictable.
When he was asked about why Jey is not accepting him
“I don’t know, the weirdest thing is, we have always been very cool. You can see videos even from us in NXT when they came down there, we were dancing together, we were hanging out we have always gotten along great. But I do think that the rivalry he had with Roman Reigns couple of years ago in my opinion It did something to him, and to become the right hand man and all this. It’s obviously a position he takes very seriously and look I kind of understand not wanting to roll out the welcome mat to an outsider at first, but at this point come on Uce
When he was asked to describe his relationship with Roman in three words
“I’m kind of wordy guy, so three is kinda limiting ‘great, really great’. Yeah, it’s going great and he’s another guy I have gotten along with great through nine, ten years as long as I have known him. But for sure the last couple of years we are seeing a different side of him and he’s sort of taken his whole thing to whole other level as the Tribal Chief, but part of what happens is, when you become a megastar, It can actually be isolating. Roman used to be the, he wasn’t just the Head of the Table, he was kind of, the head of the locker room. Then this last couple of years, he’s become such a megastar, he’s the head of this whole thing, It’s the Tribal Chief head of the whole thing becomes kind of isolating, and I think part of what he likes about me, is that maybe it reminds him a little bit of just good old days where people weren’t all tiptoeing around him, you know, he was just one of the guys.”
