Cody Rhodes: “I don’t ever want to be in the ring with Brock Lesnar again.”

Cody Rhodes made his return back to WWE during WrestleMania 38. Cody Rhodes’ return was widely celebrated by the fans. Cody Rhodes’ first opponent was none other than Seth ‘Freakin’ Rollins.

Cody Rhodes over the course of time faced many wrestlers which includes Seth Rollins, Roman Reigns, Solo Sikoa and more. Cody Rhodes’ unexpected opponent was Brock Lesnar. Cody and Brock faced each other three times. Cody and Brock won each, going into SummerSlam 2023. Brock was merciless in SummerSlam but eventually Cody won the match.

Cody Rhodes recently was on WWE After The Bell podcast, where he talked about facing Brock Lesnar.

“The significance of 3 different matches with one of the absolute greatest of all time. The most decorated combat sport athlete in the world. It hasn’t set in. It hasn’t. You know, the fact that when he was taking his gloves off, looking at me, I thought for sure one’s gonna connect. I’m probably going up for an F-5. I was very convinced that the fight wasn’t over.

I don’t ever want to be in the ring with Brock again. I had the honor, but also the absolute struggle of being across from him. But, If I ever needed a lesson in a life about, ‘hey yeah I know you feel like you’re so good and telling everyone you are the best in the world and all this’. If I ever needed a lesson, I got a master class of an education from those 3 encounters that I could not have gotten anywhere else.”
