Alex Sherman of CNBC.com is reporting that WWE has hired JP Morgan for advice. It could be possibly be advice related to selling.
“WWE has hired JPMorgan to help the company advise on a potential sale, according to people familiar with the matter. JPMorgan declined to comment. A WWE spokesman couldn’t immediately be reached for comment. If a deal occurs, it would likely occur in the next three to six months, said the people, who asked not to be named because the discussions are private.”
Sherman also notes that WWE could possibly try to sell the business in next three – six months. The primary reason for that is WWE media right renewal comes at the end of this year, so WWE could be planning to sell before the media right renewal.
Comcast, Fox, Disney, Warner Bros Discovery, Netflix, Amazon, Endeavor and Liberty Media were listed in this report as the most likely candidates to purchase WWE.
